Bumping this to keep it "in the know". This is a major issue for those of us that want GW:EN when it's released and the bonus missions - which is probably a large portion of the fans.

Seems someone asked about it on Gaile's Talk page on the official Wiki:
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/User_...online_sto re

Wondering why we would get no response here...and I wonder why the person who posted there didn't bother to post about it here to let us know there was a conversation about it there....

Yeah... I'm not entirely reassured. Thanks for the info, though.

I posted about it on Gaile's page...the only reason i did so was to point her here in hopes she would respond here. That didn't happen for whatever reason. But she did respond on her talk page.

While i love both guru and gww it seems to me that GWW is taking over as far as the "quick response" by Dev's or CR peeps.

Hmm, so it doesn't look like we will be able to advance pay then from that? Shame.

I see what you mean about the responses, but I find media wiki discussions hard to read, the way they're threaded and the lack of space between posters just puts me off. If I want to scan through info quickly I find forum style threading a lot more coherent.

Plus... I don't need another GW bookmark to deal with..

Gaile Posted "Tips for Successful Use of the In-Game or PlayNC Store" on her talk page in response to the part about this thread...

so I take that to mean a preorder period is out of the question...sigh...

I'll try my hardest to refrain from posting an "I told you so" thread...

Yeah, I'm not gonna make the same promise. Commendable effort, though.

Honestly Anet doesn't even need stores. They could save themselves a huge cost in manufacturing the game by selling it online. After all it is an ONLINE game. Being able to only buy it ONLINE would have very little affect on their bottom line. With prepaid Credit Cards that's no longer an issue.

Stores don't make money off of new games. New games are just a draw to get people into the store to buy used games and other things they do make a profit off of. Like how stores use gas to pull people in to buy cigarettes and alchole.
